When Bob Marley stayed at my house.

In the winter of 1972, Bob Marley stayed with us for a few days. After he’d left, I found something he’d written on a brown envelope. He may have wanted it for a song but I’ll never know. Here it is!

Don’t worry if it’s minus four
The weather man says it’s gonna be alright.
Singing’ “Don’t worry if its minus four
‘Cause tomorrow’s gonna shine bright

Rise up this mornin’,
No sign of the risin’ sun,
Three little birds
Lifeless by the cat-flap
Singing postman
His melodies pure and true,
Saying’, (“This is my letter for you”)

Singing’ “Don’t worry ’bout another bill
‘Cause the bank manager’s gonna be alright.”
Singing’ “Don’t worry (don’t worry) ’bout your debt
‘Cause everyone here’s in the red!”

Rise up this mornin’,
No sign of the risin’ sun,
Three little birds
Lifeless by the cat-flap
Singin’ postman
His melodies pure and true,
Sayin’, “This is my letter to you”

Singin’ “Don’t worry about a thing, worry about a thing, oh!
Everyone here is stoney broke. Don’t worry!”
Singin’ “Don’t worry about a thing” I won’t worry!
“‘Cause every here is stoney broke”

Singin’ “Don’t worry about a thing,
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright” I won’t worry!
Singin’ “Don’t worry about a thing,
Cause every little thing gonna be alright.”
Singin’ “Don’t worry about a thing, oh no!
‘Cause every little thing gonna be alright!
